FACCM Fights for Providers
27-Mar-2018FACCM Fights for Providers
FACCM's Executive Director, Ellyn Setnor Bogdanoff addresses four issues that came to light after providers began engaging with the new DCF Handbook in a recent memo to the Office of Child Care Regulation within Department of Children and Families. FACCM wants you to know, we are listening to your concerns and acting on your behalf.
As you know, we had one particular issue regarding the "one-hour" rule that required our immediate attention; the House sponsor of HB 1079 agreed to add an amendment to fix this well intentioned, but logistical nightmare. After speaking to our providers and many Coalitions throughout the state, this requirement was wreaking havoc on providers and causing staff extreme stress. We have the same goal of keeping our children safe while in care, as DCF, and hope we can continue to work together to find solutions.
Working hard on your behalf,
