Dear FACCM Members,
These are exciting and precarious times for those in early child care and education industry and your association is right here to protect you. Governor Scott has taken office and is proposing many changes that will directly affect our businesses. Our team of lobbyists will be vigilant in safeguarding our industry and protecting your interests. With the addition of our Executive Director Mrs. Lisa Olds, FACCM is prepared to speak on your behalf and represent your interests across the state.
As I look back on 2010, I realize that FACCM has had many accomplishments. We have recruited and hired a dynamic executive director in Mrs. Lisa Olds to represent our members and association. She brings with her great talents and an unending enthusiasm to her work at FACCM. I am excited about the projects that she has begun and continues to work on for your organization. The board of directors has developed a new mission statement that better reflects our purpose and direction, “The leader in building and protecting a vibrant, professional child care industry.” In addition, FACCM has begun expanding our business partnerships and building membership benefits to include regional meetings, webinar trainings, and more opportunities for professional development. FACCM is the largest organization for child care providers in the state and we look to expand into others! Please visit our web site, www.faccm.org, to check out all the updates as the legislative session progresses. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office directly at 1-800-322-2603 or email us at info@faccm.org. We look forward to hearing from you.
It has been my pleasure to serve as President and oversee the accomplishments of organization this past year. I remember listening from under the table as my mother and other FACCM board members discussed child care related topics and concerns over twenty years ago, and now I am sitting at the head of that table steering the ship. I am pleased to say that the organization has had much success this past year, but there is still work to be done. I look forward to hearing from all our members and encourage you to participate in any way that you can. Thank you for the opportunity to serve and I look forward to representing you again next year.
My best,
Holly M. Wallsmith, President
